GATEPLUS is a comprehensive solution for Access Control and Time-cum-Attendance Management. It uses SMS technology for connecting remote locations, branches or units of an organization to facilitate management of attendance, work timings and movement of employees in various office premises. This means that there is no need for any WAN connectivity between your multiple offices to deploy GATEPLUS.

A smart card is issued to each employee. This is also generally known as a "Contact Card". It has a small micro chip on one side of it. These cards will bear the photo identity of the employee as well as other details as per the requirement of the customer.

A Smart Card Reader is attached to PC USB / Serial Port. A user uses a Smart Card to log In/Out time.

GatePlus software on PC will maintain a log of the attendance marked by the employee. GatePlus software will also maintain entire information about employees and a single database can be maintained for readers across multiple offices. Thus it can provide centralized time reports for multiple offices.

Instead of a Smart Card Reader a Standalone micro controller based terminal is used in this edition. This unit can be installed near the entrance area or anywhere in the client's premises.

Each of such Micro-Controller reader records up to 2000 entries in it's local memory. This data can be regularly or automatically transferred to the Gateplus Software running on any computer in the office.

Multiple Micro-controllers can also be placed at different locations of the same office premise or different office premises and can be interlinked with a centralized computer hosting the Gateplus software.

The Micro-controller unit is linked to the computer where Gateplus software is installed through a simple serial port cable connection.

The integration of Micro-Controller reader can also be done with a locking device at the gate.

RFID, a contraction for Radio Frequency Identification, is a generic term for technologies that use radio waves to automatically identify individual items over relatively short distances.

The overall feature of this version is similar to the Micro-controller based version. The main difference is that instead of "Contact Cards" the micro-controller here is capable of detecting and reading information from a RFID enabled card.

RFID cards are also generally known as "Proximity Cards" since they can sense the presence of the card holder without him actually bringing the card in contact with the terminal.

Bluetooth has a tremendous potential in moving and synchronizing information in a localized setting. Potential for Bluetooth applications is huge, because we transact business and communicate more with people who are close by than with those who are far away - a natural phenomenon of human interaction.

Considering the potential of Bluetooth technology, Saltriver has innovative models for providing Attendance and Time management solution based on the Bluetooth technology.

The key feature here is that the unit that the employee will not carry the normal Smart card or Proximity card with him but will be given a small bluetooth enabled device, which can be used by him for other purposes also and won't be very costly as compared to the cost of the cards. Also the Micro-controller will be Bluetooth enabled.
